Privacy Policy

This page explains what information Pittsboro Christian Village collects through this website, why we collect it, and how you can reach us about it.

Who We Are

Pittsboro Christian Village, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community serving Christian residents in Pittsboro, North Carolina. We operate independent homes, apartments, a Care Home, and Pittsboro Bible Assembly, a church on our campus. This policy covers only this website — not our physical campus, our paper application process, or Pittsboro Bible Assembly's own website.

You can reach us by phone at 919.542.3151 or by mail at 1825 East Street, Pittsboro, NC 27312.

Information We Collect

Information you give us

If you fill out the inquiry form on our Contact page, we collect:

  • What you're asking about (living here yourself, a family member, giving, volunteering, or working here)
  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Living interests (houses, apartments, Care Home, or undecided), if applicable
  • Timeframe and visit preference, if applicable
  • How you heard about the Village
  • Best time to reach you
  • Any notes you choose to add

If you give online through the Donorbox form on our Support page, Donorbox collects your payment and donor information directly — we describe that relationship in Who We Share It With below.

Information collected automatically

We do not use advertising pixels, cookie-based analytics, or other tracking scripts on this site. Like any website, our hosting provider logs basic technical information when you visit — such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the site that referred you here — as part of standard web server activity. Our host also provides us with aggregate traffic statistics derived from these logs. We do not use any of this information to build advertising profiles or to track you across other websites.

We also use Google Search Console, which shows us how the site appears in Google Search results (search terms, impressions, clicks, and indexing status) based on Google's own search data, not on tracking you individually as you browse our site.

How We Use It

  • Responding to your inquiry. We use the information from the Contact form to follow up by phone, email, or mail during office hours and to route your message to the right person (admissions, giving, volunteering, or hiring).
  • Sending information you asked for. If you ask about living options, we use your contact details to send relevant information and, if you requested one, to schedule a visit.
  • Processing gifts. If you give through Donorbox, your donation and donor information are used to process and receipt your gift.
  • Site security and troubleshooting. We use automatically collected technical information to keep the site running and secure and to diagnose problems.
  • Understanding site traffic and search performance. We use Hostinger's website analytics and Google Search Console to see how many people visit, which pages they read, and how the site performs in Google Search, so we can improve it.

Cookies & Tracking

We do not run any advertising pixels or third-party tracking scripts of our own on this site, and we do not sell or share your information with advertising platforms. As described above, our host logs basic technical information as standard web server activity, and Google Search Console shows us aggregate search performance from Google's own data — neither works by placing a tracking cookie in your browser.

A couple of features on this site are provided by outside companies and may set their own cookies when you use them, independent of us:

  • Donorbox (Support page) — a giving form embedded from Donorbox to process online donations. Donorbox may set cookies needed to process your payment. See Donorbox's own privacy policy for details.
  • Google Maps (About and Contact pages) — an interactive map that only loads if you click the "Load interactive map" button. Once loaded, Google may set its own cookies. Nothing loads from Google until you click.

Because we don't run our own visitor-tracking scripts, there is nothing on our end for a browser-level opt-out or Global Privacy Control signal to turn off. If that changes, we will update this section.

Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

We share information only in these situations:

  • Service providers who help us run the site and process gifts: Web3Forms, which delivers Contact form submissions to our staff by email; Donorbox, which processes online donations made through our Support page; Hostinger, our web host, which stores the site and provides basic traffic analytics; and Google Search Console, which reports search performance data. Each handles information under its own privacy policy.
  • Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the safety of residents, staff, or visitors.
  • Business transfers. If the Village were ever to merge with or transfer operations to another organization, information could transfer as part of that transition, subject to this policy or a successor policy.

Data Retention

We keep information from the Contact form for as long as it is useful to respond to your inquiry and follow up about the Village, and as needed for our own recordkeeping and legal obligations. When it is no longer needed for those purposes, we remove or archive it. Donation records are retained by Donorbox and by us as needed for gift acknowledgment, accounting, and tax purposes.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information you share with us, and we dispose of records securely when they are no longer needed. No website or method of transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, and we do not claim any specific security certification or compliance framework.

Your Rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can opt out of marketing follow-up at any time. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of in that regard.

Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws — including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and others — may have additional rights under their state's law, such as the right to a copy of your data in a portable format and the right to appeal a denied request.

To exercise any of these rights, call us at 919.542.3151 during office hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm), or write to us at 1825 East Street, Pittsboro, NC 27312. If we deny a request, you may appeal by contacting us the same way and asking that your request be reviewed again.

Children's Privacy

This website is directed to adults and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our site or practices change. We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last Updated" date at the top.
